THE FIRST PORT OF COLL

Incorporating A Letting Flat and

The Island Cafe

Julian and Pauline look after Isle of Coll Lettings and will assist you in booking your holiday. The flat on the upper floor of The First Port of Coll is entirely self-contained and has views over the loch, the lounge and two of the bedrooms having window seats

The flat is ideal for those who don't wish to bring a car, but remember how big Coll is and think long walks, or being dropped out to certain points to walk back, and of course bicycles, readily available next door at the Post Office.

Initially it is just a lovely 15 minute walk from the pier when the boat brings you in...and we will pick you up if you let us know you need a lift.Once in the village bicycles can be hired and there is also the tour/ taxi company.

The position of the flat is well situated for exploring all the island, central to both the west and the east end of the island.

Entry on day of arrival will hopefully be by 12-00noon, the occupants before you are asked to leave at 9-30. You can leave your luggage if required while waiting.

Please note we request departure by 9.30 am on your final day. The boat brings new occupants at 9-40am and we have to prepare the flat for them. The boat leaves for Oban 12-15pm

The Flat is let on a weekly basis, though arrangements can be made for other lengths of stay. The telephone number on which to contact us is..

HEBRIDES FLAT

Hebrides Lounge

Lounge area

Hebrides is to the right as you look at the building. The flat has three bedrooms, one is a double bedded room, another a double bedded room with a single bed, which interlinks with an adult sized bunk bedded room with a cot. Hence taking seven and a baby. Two bedrooms have front views with window seats.

There is a good kitchen with fridge, freezer, micro-wave, toaster, kettle, plenty of china and saucepans and utensils, electric cooker and a breakfast bar with stools. There is also a WASHING MACHINE AND DRYER.We think this will make traveling easier with fewer clothes needed..especially for those with youngsters . Also, we do realise that nearly everyone kind of throws themselves into the waves at some time during their stay! We provide Ecover laundry liquid.

Dining area

The lounge/dining room is a big room with ample space for dining and lounging for all, with a loch view from the window seat....there is a range of games, books and jig-saws to while away times indoors. There is an open fire where you can burn coal and peat, also total control heating and independent timed water heating.

Freeview TV and a DVD player.

And a sizeable bathroom with bath, sink and toilet.

Towels and tea-towels are supplied, the beds are made up, there will be some toilet rolls, a bag in the bin and bottles of washing up liquid and laundry liquid with a cloth and scouring pad.

Electricity is included.

VIEWS FROM THE FLAT

___________________

Seal spotting is top favourite pastime from the window seats in the flat but look more carefully for the otters. It is not impossible to see a Dolphin exploring up as far as the village or a Basking Shark heading that way.The loch is home to much wildlife all year round and obviously varies with the seasons...the Curlew is often in front of the flats, sometimes the Redshank, the Heron nearly always will be fishing, Eider ducks court and raise their young,Oyster Catchers's shrill a background to living here- their orange beaks and legs catching the eye on the tide line all year round. There is always something to see on the loch and then further out to sea.....Staffa,The Treshnish,Mull,Iona and Ardnamurchan all provide the backdrop to the east of Coll and Arinagour.

RECYCLING

On Coll we can recycle cardboard, plastic, cans, glass and batteries. Please leave these out of your rubbish bags.
