THE FIRST PORT OF COLL

Incorporating Two Letting Flats and

The Island Cafe

MALIN and HEBRIDES

Julian and Pauline look after Isle of Coll Lettings and will assist you in booking your holiday. The flats on the upper floor of The First Port of Coll are entirely self-contained. Each flat is with a view......

The flats are ideal for those who don't wish to bring a car, but remember how big Coll is and think long walks, or being dropped out to certain points to walk back, and of course bicycles, readily available next door.  Initially it is just a lovely 15 minute walk from the pier when the boat brings you in...and we will pick you up if you let us know you need a lift.Once in the village Bicycles can be hired and there is also the tour/ taxi company.

The position of the flats is well situated for exploring all the island, central to both the west and the east end of the island.

Entry on day of arrival will hopefully be by 1pm, the occupants before you will only leave at 9-30. You can leave your luggage if required while waiting.

Please note we request departure by 9.30 am on your final day. The boat brings new occupants at 9-40am and we have to prepare the flat for them. The boat leaves for Oban 12-15pm

The Flats are let on a weekly basis, though arrangements can be made for shorter stays. There are two telephone numbers on which to contact us........... 01879 230262 or 01879 230488.

VIEWS FROM THE FLATS

___________________

Seal spotting is top favourite pastime from the window seats in the flats but look more carefully for the otters. It is not impossible to see a Dolphin exploring up as far as the village or a Basking Shark heading that way.The loch is home to much wildlife all year round and obviously varies with the seasons...the Curlew is often in front of the flats, sometimes the Redshank, the Heron nearly always will be fishing, Eider ducks court and raise their young,Oyster Catchers's shrill a background to living here- their orange beaks and legs catching the eye on the tideline all year round. There is always something to see on the loch and then further out to sea.....Staffa,The Treshnish,Mull,Iona and Ardnamurchan all provide the backdrop to the east of Coll and Arinagour.

RECYCLING

On Coll we can recycle cardboard, plastic, cans, glass and batteries. Please leave these out of your rubbish bags.
